On his last visit with his Georgetown parole officer in April, he was arrested on charges of aggravated kidnapping and assault from Travis County, which stemmed from an altercation with an ex-girlfriend.

When officers searched his car, they found more than 10 grams of cocaine in the floorboard and marijuana in the center console. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, Williamson County District Attorney John Bradley said.

Salazar was found guilty this week on the drug charge. State District Judge Burt Carnes ordered that Salazar's 50-year sentence begin after he finishes the rest of his 12-year sentence for false imprisonment.

Boxford: Man denies mistreating ponies, geese

BOXFORD — A local man, arraigned yesterday on 15 counts of animal cruelty, is forbidden from keeping any pets except for some tropical fish.

Frederick Delisio, 52, of 695 Main St. was arraigned in Haverhill District Court, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of withholding food and water from miniature ponies and domestic geese he owned.

"You'll see it's a big misconception," Delisio told Judge Stephen Abany.

Delisio was arrested Saturday after police and officers from the Animal Rescue League seized three miniature ponies and three geese from his barn — the floors of which court records described as covered inches deep in excrement.

Christopher Smalley, communications director for Animal Rescue League of Boston, said Delisio's animals are under veterinarian care at an undisclosed location.

MY CHRISTMAS STORY

As soon as you got comfortable enough to hang up your clothes, or to sit at the breakfast table, you were gone. Lillian sheltered Jacob for these reasons, seeking out the best candidates possible for the boy. Two days before the Petersons were to take Jacob home, Mrs. Peterson got a call from the doctor. Her cries of rejoice were heard throughout the house. Anne immediately called Lillian Hoback. Lillan was surprised to hear the tearful Mrs. Peterson on the other end of the phone. Jacob's case worker was visibly shaken when she hung up the receiver. With tears in her eyes she glanced at the Christmas tree, Mrs. Peterson's words resounding in her ear, "Miss Hoback, isn’t it wonderful? Now Jacob will have a little brother or sister!"
